The Sedona Conference invites all Working Group Series members to join us for another in our series of free Virtual Town Hall meetings, aimed at continuing our tradition of crafting the next generation of eDiscovery thought leadership through dialogue and consensus building. January’s program will bring together a panel of eDiscovery experts for a discussion on the following questions as they relate to search and retrieval methods:
- Are there new (or at least new to legal practice) search and retrieval methods that have emerged since the publication of two Working Group 1 papers in 2013: Commentary on Achieving Quality in the E-Discovery Process; and Best Practices Commentary on the Use of Search & Information Retrieval Methods?
- Have existing search and retrieval methods been used in new or different ways in the years since these Commentaries were published?
- Has the proliferation in new forms of communication, such as collaboration tools, affected how and which search and retrieval methods are being used? If not, should it?
The Town Hall will begin with an overview discussion among our dialogue leaders. The audience will then have an opportunity to discuss and brainstorm on the topic both collectively and in smaller breakout sessions. Takeaways and action items will be noted and shared with all to inform the ongoing mission of WG1 and guide its future publication projects.
Participation is free to all current Working Group Series members, but advance registration is required. Registrants will receive a Zoom invitation and instructions two days before the event.
