The Sedona Conference Commentary on Proportionality in Electronic Discovery was published in January 2013 and immediately became an essential resource for eDiscovery practitioners, cited favorably by federal courts, in law review articles, and in treaties and practice handbooks. This year’s amendments to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure make proportionality an even more important topic, and while the Commentary anticipated this development, updating is necessary to keep it current.
After a spirited dialogue on proposed revisions to The Sedona Conference Commentary on Proportionality in Electronic Discovery at the Working Group 1 (WG1) Annual Meeting in Orlando, we will hold an online meeting to gain further feedback on the proposed revisions from the entire WG1 membership. The proposed revisions may be downloaded from the WG1 web page or please register for the online meeting on this page, and follow the instructions in the registration confirmation email you'll receive. Registration is free, but required for you to participate.
Whether or not you register and attend, you are encouraged to submit specific questions and comments that you would like to have addressed during this meeting. Your suggestions will help the drafting team lead a thorough and inclusive dialogue. You are invited to submit your comments in writing any time between now and December 9 2015 to comments@sedonaconference.org, and any request for confidentiality will be honored.
We hope you will be able to be a part of this effort to broaden participation and input from all Sedona Working Group Series members in this "mission critical" endeavor.
