Judge Mix was appointed to the federal bench in 2007. In addition to serving as a full-time Magistrate Judge on the United States District Court for the District of Colorado, she has served on the Judicial Conference of the United States’ Committee on the Administration of the Magistrate Judge System, the Court’s Local Rules Committee, as Chair of the Colorado Judicial Coordinating Council and on the Executive Committee of the Federal Magistrate Judges’ Association. Judge Mix is the judicial co-founder of the Colorado Intellectual Property American Inn of Court and was the founder of the Federal Pro Se Clinic in the District of Colorado. She is an adjunct faculty member at the University of Colorado School of Law and the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, a frequent writer and speaker on the law, and a member of The Sedona Conference Working Group 1 on Electronic Document Retention and Production (WG1).
