John is a Managing Director at Stout, where he leads its intellectual property practice in Chicago. He has over 30 years of experience serving as either an expert witness or consultant in breach of contract and intellectual property disputes, including disputes over the misappropriation of trade secrets. John has testified in numerous jury and other bench trials in various federal and state courts across the country on a variety of issues, most of which included an analysis and evaluation of economic and financial data for the purpose of determining the extent of damages. He also has experience with the analysis of accounting, production, and financial data for the purpose of assessing the economic basis for damages and injunctive relief. In performing these analyses, John has applied numerous financial tools and methodologies, such as discounted cash flow analysis, regression models, and incremental cost analysis.
