Christopher Alan Suarez
Christopher Suarez is a high-tech lawyer and trial litigator at Steptoe & Johnson LLP who stays on the cutting edge of technology. His practice includes patent and trade secret litigation, privacy advice and counseling, and numerous other topics at the intersection of emerging technology, intellectual property, and privacy. Chris co-edited and contributed chapters to the ABA’s treatise on The Internet of Things: Legal Issues, Policy, and Practical Strategies, including the chapter on “Challenges for Electronic Discovery in the IoT Era,” and has spoken on numerous panels regarding the legal implications of the IoT and similar technologies. Chris is a graduate of Yale Law School and a former law clerk to Judge Timothy B. Dyk of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. As a co-chair of the ABA SciTech section’s membership and diversity committee, he is passionate about improving diversity within the legal profession, particularly in the IP and SciTech fields.
