James is a senior trial partner at Farella Braun + Martell and has a diverse litigation practice with a particular emphasis in technology, intellectual property, and other complex litigation. Founder and former chair of the firm’s Intellectual Property Litigation Practice Group, his extensive experience includes providing advice, counseling and handling disputes relating to patent, antitrust, copyright, trademark, trade secret, Internet, software, computer performance, and other technology and licensing. James has tried numerous cases in both federal and state courts, as well as in complex arbitration proceedings. He also has significant experience in handling numerous multi-party cases and in conducting complex settlement negotiations and mediations.
