Travis Brown
Travis is an Assistant Attorney General in the Consumer Protection Division of the Tennessee Attorney General’s Office, where he is involved with civil law enforcement investigations and enforcement actions involving consumer protection, antitrust, and unauthorized legal practice matters. Travis leads many consumer protection investigations and serves as lead counsel on several civil enforcement actions. He also leads multistate investigations on behalf of groups of states. Travis focuses his practice on financial services, deceptive advertising, and issues involving the unauthorized practice of law. Travis is also a member of the Sedona Conference Working Group on Electronic Document Retention and Production and is experienced in complex eDiscovery issues, especially those surrounding consumer protection investigations. He recently presented a 3-part series to staff at the Attorney General’s Office on gathering electronic evidence in investigations. Travis graduated cum laude from Belmont University College of Law. While in law school, he served as the ABA’s Janet Steiger Fellow for Consumer Protection in the Tennessee Attorney General’s Office and as a research assistant to former U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales. Travis lives with his family in Nashville.
