Derron Jeffrey Blakely
Derron is Deputy General Counsel Elbit Systems of America (“ESA”), and General Counsel of ESA’s Airborne Solutions and Services and Support Solutions Business Units. He co-chairs ESA’s Information Governance Board, and ESA’s Mergers and Acquisitions Steering Committee Co-Chair Derron is responsible for managing ESA’s litigation including various patent infringement and trade secret matters. Before ESA, he was a government contracts and litigation associate with Covington & Burling in Washington, DC. He received his J.D., summa cum laude and Order of the Coif, from the Washington & Lee University School of Law. Derron clerked for the Honorable Judge H. Emory Widener, Jr. on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit. He holds a B.S. in Biotechnology from the Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Derron recently began serving as the Vice Chair, In-House for the American Intellectual Property Law Association.
