Ventsislav has served as Chairman of the Bulgarian Commission for Personal Data Protection since April 2014. After having served for two terms as Vice-Chair of the former Article 29 Working Party, he was elected unanimously as Vice-Chairman of the European Data Protection Board (EDPB) in 2018, a position which he still holds. He previously served as an advisor to the Minister of Interior, as a senior advisor to the 41st and 42nd Bulgarian National Assemblies, and as an elected member of the Bulgarian Central Election Commission.
