Nicola is a partner and leader of Kirkland’s IP litigation practice in London. She represents her clients, drawing upon a wealth of experience built up over more than 24 years at the forefront of IP litigation, particularly in relation to patent and trade secrets. Her broad and varied practice includes acting in market leading standard essential patent (SEP) essentiality, validity and global FRAND adjudication litigation in the tech sector; coordinating global IP enforcement/defense cases; high tech, digital and telecommunications litigation; pharmaceutical and biologics patent litigation; and strategic life sciences patent and product lifecycle advice. Nicola, who has an MA in Natural Sciences, is renowned for her strategic thinking and creative approach to solving clients’ most difficult and commercially critical IP issues and regularly represents her clients in groundbreaking cases in the Court of Appeal and UK Supreme Court.
